How To Quit Smoking - What Is An Analysis Of Smoking Control
Just for you smokers, an analysis on the ways to set your mind to the correct place so that you make a very intelligent decision to stop smoking. This is really a resolution that if you engage your brain it just does not make any sense to continue with your habit at all. By executing a plan and following it and by knowing what you are going to get as a reward for stopping this habit you will cause yourself and remind your own self even when you are tempted that the reward is so much more for quitting the habit than to continue with a way of life that is costing you dearly both financially and health wise.
I didn't think I would be able to stop my smoking addiction. It seemed like I was always waiting until the pressure in my life was at a minimum to begin to stop and of course that just never seemed to happen. I used my smoking as an anxiety reliever and I just didn't know what to compensate it with. I was frightened of gaining weight and it seemed like every time I stopped smoking or even attempted smoking control, I replaced my smoking with eating and as soon as I saw a weight gain over five pound I was once again smoking.
It was not effortless but I started some smoking control by replacing additional activities and habits for times when I would usually smoke. When I decided that I had to break the smoking habit I started with a list of pros and cons for my decision to smoke or to quit. In other words what I was getting out of smoking and then the cons to maintaining my smoking habit. Of course the pros far outweighed the cons. The financial and health costs of a smoking addiction makes the decision to continue on one you cant really argue for in any sense except for the fact that as a smoker this is a habit that you cherish.
After I made my list I hung this list up on my shower mirror and also on my refrigerator door. I wanted each day to see my motivation for changing my behavior this aided a lot since quitting smoking is a decision one has to establish everyday. When ever you stop smoking you have to anticipate there will be times when you will slip but in the times past that I slipped, I just accepted failure and started smoking full steam ahead. This time if I backslid and bought a pack of cigarettes or smoked one I begged from a friend I allowed myself forgiveness for not being perfect and started right back up.
Before I saw the bathroom scales go up I made sure to go to the gym more and not to rearrange eating with smoking. I also rewarded myself by pampering myself with anything I in most cases wouldn't do for myself. In the event that I pay attention to careful smoking control my cigarette consumption always goes down. I shall not say that I don't think about smoking occasionally and perhaps always will but I always tell myself that what you save is both money and health. Your clothes don't smell like smoke your hair doesn't reek of smoke and you can better enjoy the food you eat. You can also put the hard cash you would have used for punching cigarettes into a saving account and watch it add up.
